Infrastructure WA has welcomed the announcement of the appointment of its Chairperson, Nicole Lockwood, to the Board of NBN Co as a non-executive director for a 3-year term.   

Ms Lockwood will be involved in overseeing the strategic direction of Australia’s wholesale broadband access network, helping to guide the rollout and ensure Australian’s have access to fast broadband services.

“I’m excited at the opportunity, Western Australia needs to plan for new industries and make the most of its existing infrastructure asset base. Access to fast broadband will play a vital role”, Ms Lockwood said.

IWA Chief Executive Officer Phil Helberg congratulated Nicole on her new appointment.

“With the importance of digital connectivity and technology in our State Infrastructure Strategy, we’re thrilled Nicole will be representing WA on one of the largest and most complex infrastructure initiatives undertaken in Australia.” Mr Helberg said.
