Infrastructure WA

From the CEO

WA’s draft State Infrastructure Strategy has arrived

Western Australia’s draft State Infrastructure Strategy – Foundations for a Stronger Tomorrow – was released to a bumper crowd of more than 900 in Perth and online on 21 July.

Another 100-plus people have since attended workshops organised by Infrastructure WA, and I’m pleased to share we have already received numerous comments in response to the 88 recommendations in the Strategy.

State-wide workshop series: What we learnt

A big thank you to everyone who attended one of the workshops hosted by IWA during the past two months.

We visited all 10 regions, hosted 15 different workshops (including three online ones) and were able to hear the views of 450+ different participants.

While we still have a lot more analysis to do, we do know that transport, digital connectivity and telecommunications, energy, industry and governance are all issues that unite people across WA.

From the CEO

As we move towards the release of our first draft 20-year State Infrastructure Strategy it seems as if time is speeding up!

Work has continued apace to complete the draft Strategy which we are anticipating will be ready for release mid-year. As our external discussions and consultations are finalised, the work has intensified to put the many proposals, ideas and recommendations through a strategic evaluation process. We expect the first Strategy to form the foundation from which future strategies will evolve.
